This organ- and vocal-driven gospel recording stands as a tribute to Muller’s late father, Jacobus Johannes Philippus Muller (1954–2021), and marks one of the most personal projects of his musical career.

“This is more than just a song—it’s a prayer, a farewell, a thank you,” says Muller. “My father lived his faith with quiet dignity, and I created this arrangement to reflect the sacredness that ‘Die Onse Vader’ held in our home.”

Muller, who taught himself to play the organ at age 8, composed and produced the track in Berlin, drawing from his grief and the strength of his faith. The song’s arrangement honors the traditional spirit of the Afrikaans Christian prayer, while integrating contemporary classical and sacred music elements.

The single is now available for streaming and download on all major platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, Bandcamp, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, Deezer, and TIDAL.

A SONG BORN FROM LOSS, CRAFTED WITH LOVE

Kobus Muller was unable to attend his father’s funeral due to COVID-19 travel restrictions in 2021. The emotional weight of an unspoken goodbye became the inspiration for this intimate musical offering. “Die Onse Vader” is not only a prayer but also a spiritual journey through grief, memory, and healing.

“My father always said that if a song were ever to be sung at his funeral, it should be ‘Die Onse Vader.’ This is me fulfilling that final wish the only way I know how—through music.”
